The Peace of God Rests upon Zion

2 Cor 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

1 : to cause (as light waves) to vibrate in a definite pattern 2 : to give physical polarity to 3 : to break up into opposing factions or groupings <a campaign that polarized the electorate>

 

What is Wrong?

 

Jeremiah 46:15

 

Why are thy valiant [men] swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.

 

He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.

 

The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. Valiant men are not always victorious. Ecc 9:11

 

1. People were made for a relationship with God and real satisfaction and contentment can be found only

in that relationship people were made for.

 

- Look at Adam and Eve in the Garden - fellowship with God and God provided all their needs.

 

- We, too, are here for the same purpose - fellowship with God and God providing all our needs.

 

- Satisfaction and contentment will come when we let God do what He wants to do for us.

 

2. Adam and Eve chose to do things their way as their son Cain also did to impose their own will and distort God’s call to obedience, duty to God and  worship. By their disobedience they dishonored themselves 

These all erred in their own religious perspective disregarding their relationship to God and found themselves conquered and divided by the lies of the enemy of God and immediately experienced separation, loneliness, emptiness and loss of contentment.

 

- Like Adam and Eve, we also have chosen at times to do things our own way apart from God and therefore we may even now experience the same feelings they did and are constantly searching for satisfaction that till now seems still to be unattainable.

 

- Trying to be satisfied with what the world has is why there is war, divorce, adultery, theft, lies, murder and indebtedness, Substance abuse and alcoholism.

 

Only God can fill the place in our lives that belong to Him.

 

Until man is again restored to fellowship and communion with Jesus Christ there can be no Peace, no Hope, nor Eternal Life!

 

Unless God is in the equation that determines the outcome of your life and the path your children and family will take, destruction will continue to loom forebodingly in your future as the earth and your physical body are brought closer and closer together at the sunset of your life on earth. Some of us may be closer then we know to that last picturesque horizon that divides this life and this short time we have on earth from a timeless eternity 

 

God is interested in what our heart is looking at, just as much as He is concerned about what our hands are grabbing for!
